Enable password-less login for clients
Magic Links allow clients to securely log in to your portal with a single click—no passwords required.
When enabled, all email notifications sent to clients will include a secure, one-time link that automatically logs them in and takes them directly to the relevant page (e.g., an invoice or contract).
Magic links expire after 3 days or after a single use, ensuring both convenience and security.
You can also manually send magic links from the CRM, Billing, and Contracts apps. This makes it easy to guide clients to the right place without requiring them to log in with their credentials.
We recommend enabling Magic Links for a more seamless and modern client experience. Clients who already use Google OAuth or have set a password can continue using those methods.
To start using Magic Links:
Navigate to Settings > Client Authentication
Toggle on Enable Magic Links
That’s it—magic links will now be included in all client email notifications.
Note: Magic Links are not enabled by default for existing workspaces created before April 9, 2025. Once enabled, all future notifications will include magic links. Workspaces created after this date will have Magic Links enabled by default.
You can send magic links directly to clients from the CRM:
Navigate to the CRM page
Click Clients or Companies depending on who you want to send a magic link to
Locate the client or company and open their details page, or click the ••• menu next to the client on the Clients page
Click Email Magic Link or Copy Magic Link
Note: From the company details view, magic links can only be sent to the individual clients listed in the company, you cannot send a company-level magic link.
To send a magic link for an open invoice:
Navigate to the Billing app
Open the Invoices tab
Locate the open invoice
Click the ••• menu next to the invoice and select Copy payment link
To send a magic link for an open (pending) contract request:
Navigate to the Contracts app
Navigate to a pending contract request, either through an existing template or under the Submissions and requests tab
Click the ••• menu next to the request and select Copy eSign link
When a client clicks a magic link:
If the link is valid and hasn’t expired, they’ll be taken directly to the relevant page—no login required.
If the link has expired or already been used, they’ll see a page where they can request a new magic link to be sent to their email.
Magic Links make it easier and faster for clients to access your portal while maintaining strong security.
